Inter House Sports 2017

The Lebanese International School Limited has successfully held its Annual Inter-House Sports Meeting on the 3rd March, 2017 at the Youth Sportsmen Club (YSC) with the full participation of the parents, guardians, teachers, above all the children.  This memorable gathering of mixed varieties was attended by the members of the Board of Governors, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to Sierra Leone and other distinguish invited personalities.  This LIS Annual Sports Meeting is of great essence to the physical development of the children, and they always consider these activities of sportsmanship as a comfort zone to show case their skills in field and track events.  This also enables them to strengthen the bond of friendship, tolerance, unity and love for one another.

 

This auspicious occasion was opened with a healthy march-past of the pupils or competitors in their distinct house colours.  This was later followed by the singing of the National Anthems of both Lebanon and Sierra Leone and the explicit speech of the Chairman  Board of Governors, Mr. Samih Hashim.  Inpsite of all, the first event of the competition was potato race and the last was Tug of war.  The House Captains, Masters and Mistresses together with the sport officials professionally monitored the rules and performances of the competitors in every event.

 

The award of medals and certificates of merits were distributed to the competitors by the Chairman Board of Governors Mr. Samih Hashim, President of the  Young Sportsmen Club Mr. Faisal Basma, the Principal Mr. Ali Ahmad and some other important guests.

 

Although the four different houses were able to exhibit their sportsmanship skills to the best of their ability but one of which is blue house won the competition, white house emerged as the second, green house the third and Red house the fourth.  Impressively, most of the pupils who have mastered the disposition of the school brass provided the whole YSC with recent and good music.

 

This wonderful sport competition of this year ended peacefully holding the fact of the following sayings that “All work  and no play makes jack a du ll boy”.  But “All play and no work declines jack’s performance”.  The staff and pupils of this noble institution resumed schooling on Monday 6th of March, 2017.
