The 80th Lebanese Independence Day celebration at the Lebanese International School was a distinguished event.
The program commenced promptly at 11:00 A.M. with the Lebanese and Sierra Leone National Anthems.
Distinguished guests included tne Lebanese Ambassador to Sierra Leone Dr. Farah Farah, the Chairman Board of Governors Mr. Samih Hashim, the Chairman Academic Committee Mr. Faisal Basma, the Chairman Finance Committee Mr. Samir Hassanyeh, the Chairman Social and Sport Committee Mr. Emad Khoury and the Syrian Consul Haj Hussein Jawad.
Mr. Ali Ahmad, the Principal delivered the welcome address, followed by Tania Dakik who intruduced the Chairman.
Both the Chairman Mr. Hashim and His Excellency Dr. Farah delivered eloquent speeches. The students of L. I. S. presented a captivating national folcloric performance.
A spirited basketball match between there red and green teams of the school culminated in victory for the red team.
His Excellency Dr. Farah presented the trophy to the captain of the red team, concluding the celebration on a high note.
